The bay of Vela Luka is a long docile cove on the west end of the island Korčula. With a mild mediterranean climate it is considered to be the pearl of this part of the Adriatic.
For thousands of years at the bottom of this bay sea mud sediments have been forming. Its powers have been discovered and used for decades. It has been used as a healing method for a variety of illnesses, but first and foremost for the rheumatic diseases. Now a modern center has been built here, well equipped with modern facilities and medical supervision.
